
In 2008, Songs for a Summer Evening was held in The Garden Rooms of Salthill House. That event proved so popular, it was decided to run it again in 2009 and it has been running ever since.
Deborah Cunningham, soprano, was the principal performer in 2008 and was joined in 2009 by Paul Martin, baritone and Evan McGarrigle, accompanist. The Bluestack Chorale was formed in 2011 to bring an extra dimension to the programming.
The Mountcharles Opera Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2018 and in the intervening years have brought a hugely diverse repertoire to Donegal audiences. They’ve performed everything from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas to Let it go, from Disney’s Frozen, and everything in between!
